Like A Tsunami – By Samuel Ogorure

When it started, they laughed it off as a huge joke

They predicted the impossibility

They mocked the reality

For they thought they had the soul of Nigeria in their pouch

Maybe it all started as a joke, borne out of the desire to see a Nigeria that truly works for all

A hunger to have a Nigerian truly committed to serve the people and their best interest.

So it started.

From the people asking him to throw his hat into the ring and declare his presidential intention in the PDP

While demanding that the PDP give him their ticket

Unfortunately the PDP was too blind to read the pulse of the people and the handwriting on the wall

They even had some sinister plan to embarrass him and reduce him to a political wannabe.

Encouraged by the people's resolve to stand by him, he moved to the Labour Party

For though the platform may differ, his ideology has remained unchanged and largely untainted.

The most of them politcal hunchos called the move "suicid@l"

They predicted his politic@l de@th

They laughed him to scorn

And when the people followed him with their full chest

Putting their monies where their mouth is, they laughed again.

And when we started building from scratch, what today is the biggest organic political support in Nigeria

They mocked us.

We said for Peter Obi, we are Obidient

They called us names - crass, aggressive, non-entities, insolent, terrible and some more expletives

They ridiculed us time and time again

But we held our hands together, from different tribes and tongues, not minding religion and political leanings

We forged an unbreakable union, built by Nigerians, for Nigerians

Without `shishi`, we became the structure

Growing from strength to strength across Nigeria and in diaspora

Set to dismantle the status quo of political chicanery

We marched from Edo to Calabar, Owerri to Uyo

When Port Harcourt roared Obidiently, Ibadan answered Yusfully

Even with tear gas cannisters shot to dislodge them, Ebonyi marched

And when they asked Is Peter Obi in the North

Nassarawa, Niger, Benue, Kogi and Taraba answered

Jos showed its hand and we felt it nationwide

Abuja roared and we await Lagos to give us the highest rally of all time, we are Obidiently waiting for the 1st of October 2022.

Today the reality of a Peter Obi presidency is hitting home, clearing doubts and giving them concerns

And the naysayers and political predictors have gone

From he doesn't have structure, so he can't win even a polling unit

To he can only win Anambra state

And from he can only win two states in the South East

To he can only win the South East and South

They have moved from he's not in the North to "he may win some state in North Central

One step at a time, they are accepting the reality that Peter is coming

For the stone they rejected and laughed to scorn

Is coming to be the chief cornerstone

The `Okwute` that holds this failing nation together

To set it on the path of recovery, reconciliation and resurgence..

Indeed, Peter is Better.

Even your candidate know this.

Go and verify.
