AFCON defending champions and powerhouse, the Desert Warriors of Algeria lost one nil to Equatorial Guinea. The Eq. Guineans who were clearly underdogs has created perhaps one of  the greatest upset in the history of the tournament. The Algerians now have an uphill task to make it to the second round and knockout stages.  The reigning champions have a solitary one point from the two games played so far.
