Edo Air: Gov. Okpebholo Pays Courtesy Visit on Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo

The Executive Governor of Edo State on Thursday 22nd January 2026, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, in Abuja, during which they had productive discussions on the proposed Edo Air initiative.

Edo Air is a strategic step to strengthen the aviation ecosystem, boost economic activity, enhance tourism, and improve connectivity within Edo State and beyond. This initiative aligns with a broader vision of driving growth, attracting investment, and positioning Edo state as a competitive destination for business and leisure.

The Honourable Minister recalled Benin City’s history as a major aviation hub during the era of the defunct Okada Air and welcomed the deliberate efforts of the Okpebholo’s administration decision to revive the sector. He assured the Governor of the Federal Government’s full support towards the actualisation of Edo Air.

This engagement reinforces the Edo state government's strong collaboration with the Federal Government to continue to advance infrastructure development and economic transformation in Edo State.
